Pixel 9A can now enroll in Android 16 beta

After launching a few days ago, the brand-new Pixel 9A is now eligible to enroll in Android 16 Beta with the release of Beta 4.

Since it was officially placed on store shelves, the device received some updates, but these were limited to stable Android 15 channels. If you have a device, you can taste the next release, which is expected to fall into stable channels at some point in Q3 2025.

One of the easiest and fastest methods to begin is to visit the Android beta devices page and as long as you sign in the same Google account on your Pixel 9A as your browser, you will get the option of “Opt In” for Android 16 beta. It is also a super quick process, but please backup and on-device files before doing so.

After enrollment, you will be able to pull OTA by visiting Settings> System> Software updates. It is worth noting that if you do not see immediately you may need to refresh this page twice. We hope that Google will release otas, which you like that method. However, these OTA files are not yet available at the time of writing. This update weighs around 3.3GB for Pixel 9A as it leaves Android 16 Beta 1 through 3 before this beta 4 release, so if you are on a limited network or have a low data plan, then go carefully.

If you face issues, bugs or problems and want to return to Android 15, please note that this will require a device wipe. Keeping this in mind, make sure that you have all important files and data backups before starting with Android 16 bet on your pixel 9A.
