A curious change in Android 16 Beta 4 sees Google Dark Artwork in Media Player on Pixel devices.
There has been no change in the media player layout, but the Android 16 beta 4 sees rectangular preview for artwork, which clearly deepens.
This is the case on both lockscreen and quick settings, in some cases the difference is quite harsh. The examples below show Youtube and YouTube music. There is no difference when switching between the system light and dark themes.
Beta 3 vs 4
When you are playing something, you still get lava lamp-esk effect, but it is less noticeable. Overall, some more subtle, less distracted looks can be enjoyed.
It remains to be seen whether this change will make its way for the final release.
Another adjacent change is for media switcher, adding a dot to the right end in beta 4 with volume slider. It acts as another end point marker, already going into this beta with other content 3 volume sliders in Android 16.
