Wybot S2 Solar is a great option for those who do not want to worry about carrying a robot pool cleaner from the pool and to charge. It lives on the wall of your pool and charges using a solar panel. This is expensive than similar contestants, so know that you are paying mostly for the facility. He said, it is a pleasure to use it, as you have to interact with it barely.
Everyone likes to take a dip in the pool on a good summer day, but all this pleasure comes with a cost. So I really never wanted to do a pool. They are fantastic, but everyone knows me who has one who tells me that they are also a pain to maintain. However, things are becoming much more convenient with the introduction of robot pool cleaner. Wybot S2 is especially good, as it reduces charging efforts, using solar panels and pool wall docking. I recently hired a private pool and tested a group of best pool cleaner of 2025, to see which people are the most standing, and the Waybot S2 solar does so.
Wybot s2 solar review: at a glance
- What is this? Wybot S2 Solar is a robot pool cleaner that can clean your pool floor, walls and edges. The vibot calls it “the world’s first underwater solar energy -powered robot pool cleaner”.
- What is the price? Wybot S2 is the retail price of solar $ 1,799.99 MSRP.
- Where can you buy it from? Wybot S2 Solar was launched in April 2025 and is available on Wybotpool.com, as well as other retailers like Amazon.
- How did we test it? I tested Wybot S2 Solar for two days. Wybot supplied the review unit, but it is an honest review, and wybot had no to say in what is written here.
- Is it worth it? While there are more powerful robot pool cleaner on paper at equal prices, solar charging, and automatic docking add a layer of convenience like someone else. Wybot S2 Solar is an excellent choice if you want more hand-off approaches, not to mention long-term power savings.
Should you buy Wybot S2 Solar?

I have to accept that it is the most interesting and convenient robot pool cleaner I have tested so far. All others require manual charging, so you have to physically take them out of the pool, take them somewhere, and either they have to plug in or do them to do the charging station. Wybot S2 Solar can do a dock and charge itself using the solar panel of the docking station. With enough sunlight, you may only need to take it out to clean the debris in the bin.

Of course, this was the first thing I was going to try. I have experience testing solar panels for portable power, and felt that it was slightly small to charge efficiently. For my surprise, it did a great job! Then, I looked at the glasses and realized that Wybot S2 has only 5,200mAh battery in the solar. It is about the battery capacity as a regular smartphone.

The air claims that you can run the robot for about 1.5 hours per day of sunlight-I noticed that the needle increases by about 5-7% per hour when the sun is out, so this claim tracks the claim. And if you ever find yourself without juice and need to use it, you can pull it out and plug it directly. It will fully charge it in about three hours.
After installing it and leaving it to charge it a little, I decided to try it. The app is simple and easy to navigate. Just tap on the device, and you will get seven modes to choose: floor, wall, waterline, standard full pool, wall then floor, turbo floor and eco floor. I usually chose the standard full pool because I wanted to go out to see how it happened. I tried some time to waterline and wall mode to ensure everything, and did this.

If you do not feel like using the app, you can change the mode using the mode button on the robot. Using large, green power buttons, you can manually turn on the robot. Then tap on the mode button to roam through the main mode. When you choose the right, throw it into water, and it will handle the rest. I tested it, and it worked well, but again, the entire point is not to touch the robot.
Whatever you do, just make sure that you set it properly before putting the unit in water. I found that all pool cleaning robots lose their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections as soon as they are submerged. At least it docks itself, however, and the charger and robot have underwater communication for docking.

After walking around, I started noting the real cleaning pattern. The pool looked very clean to start, so the difference was not very noticeable for the naked eyes. Or at least that I thought. When I took out the bin, I focused on a lot of debris, mostly small leaves and thin twigs that I had never seen with naked eyes. You can see dirt in the image below on the edge of the bin. This is very luxurious, honestly, but it shows that Wybot can also perform with relatively low suction power of 3,962 gph (gallon per hour). This is not the strongest, but it is sufficient for most debris found in a pool.
Oh, and once, it just went into the dock without any clear reason, or so I thought. This is because it will automatically go back and will do themselves if it reaches 20% of the battery. This is good because I really did not want to dig there so to pull it out or swim to swim when it starts to cool.

If you want how clean it can be, Wybot S2 Solar has a battery life that is estimated to have a 2.5 -hour operation per full charge or about 3,229 sqft. The pool I used was not close to that size, so I could find many cleans per charge.
Time and convenience is a price, and using Wybot S2 solar was as comfortable as it is.
You can schedule the cleaning sessions, which I did not do because I actively tested it for only two days. He said, if you rely on solar charging and have a very large pool, you may want to schedule it to clean it every other day (or less often). With this small pool, I can probably schedule a daily session. This is certainly something to keep in mind, as solar charging, surprisingly efficient, still you only get a 1.5-hour battery life per day, and it is with a full day of maximum sunlight.

Wybot S2 Solar is actually a good robot pool cleaner. It cleanses well, requires very low physical interactions, and adds a layer of solar panel feature that I loved. He said, it is also very expensive, and performance is not really much better, even when compared to your robot of the vibot. If you are ready to plug to charge your robot, or to take it to the pool when needed, you can get something similar for less money.
But time and convenience is a price, and using S2 solar was as comfortable as it is. Just be sure to know that you are paying, as it is definitely more than a niche pick.

What are the best Wybot S2 Solar Options?

Wybot S2 is the main greed to use solar. I am more man than a hand, so I will renounce some performance for convenience. He said, if you do not object to carrying the robot, whenever you want to clean it and then physically connect it to charge it, there are more powerful and efficient options, which are also involved with the vibot – and they are often cheap.
- Beatbot Ekwasans 2 ($ 1199 on Amazon): Beatbot Ekwasans 2 is one of the industry’s favorite robot pool cleaner. This is a little lower cost and a very good experience. It is more powerful with 5,500 gph suction power, and has a four -hour battery life. While it has no pool docking stations, it has a charging dock and a parking mode, allowing it to come to the edge of the pool so that you can catch it easily.
- Dreame Z1 Pro ($ 1299 on Amazon): It is even more cheaper than the beatbot, and has more suction power at 8,000 GPH. Battery life is estimated in four hours, and it also has a poolside parking function. A cool trick is on your sleeve: it comes with a remote that you can use to order from outside the pool!
- Wybot C2 Vision ($ 779.99 on Amazon): It is a small, light, and dirty spots are AI technology to find under water. It has a three -hour battery life and 3,592 GPH suction strength. It is also quite cheap at $ 799.99!
- Wybot M2 Vision ($ 1699.99 on Amazon): If you want something more capable than Wybot, it has a five -hour battery life, AI can also use dirt hunting mode, and S2 costs $ 100 less than solar.
